took a long walk on the beach this evening. I was hoping to swim, but it looked to rough for me. It was a great time for the surfers, though, with that storm churning everything up. Surfing looks like so much fun . . . I wish I was athletic, and less lazy, too! Dang, it was gorgeous out there. And there are some fine looking dudes and babes with those surf boards!

Today . . . drank a Pepsi Max on an empty stomach and drove 75 mph in 110 degree heat in a car with no AC with a passenger window that won't f@cking open; screaming "Can't Get No Satisfaction" with the Rolling Stones playing on the radio; and realized I suddenly felt like I could go till the yard, plant a freaking rain forest in it, and make lunch.
Well, I got home, stood up, and realized, I'd better eat something before I pass out, LOL!
Dang, that ginseng's good sh#t! Then I ate a delicious salmon burger, some chips and salsa, and drank a Wink and tequilla, and I'm over my momentary ginseng-induced mania, LOL.
Still, can't get no satisfaction, but you know what they say in their other song:
"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, ya' get whatcha' need!"
Long live the Rolling Stones and Pepsi Max!
I think I'm going to the beach in a little while. It was too hot to do anything earlier. BTW, I only had one drink of tequilla. It made me sweat half to death. -

atheism vs anti-theism + God as height vs God as depth
by DeusMauzzim insharing some thoughts and questions while reading gott ist anders (honest to god) by john a.t robinson:.
disclaimer: if you are a biblical litteralist you might think: what is all the fuss about?
thesis: the mythological speech of the bible, taken litterally, is simply meaningless to modern scientific man.. examples: god walking in the garden, punishing adam and his children (justice?!

Deus - "airbombing sodom and gomorra"
I thought he napalmed 'em!
Deus, I think, basically, you're just re-arguing deism versus atheism, which is, yes, a weak, watered-down atheism - more palatable to "true believers," and easier on an insecure intellect. It is something I opted for, for quite some time, but not any longer. I consider myself a strong atheist, although I don't discount the perhaps negative probability that a creator might exist, and that it would be an interesting thing for science to unravel. Until then, it's just not a reality I can strongly consider, as there is absolutely no evidence for a creator - either one that "exists out there" or one that exists "within." In a sense, they are still the same concepts - spiritual, religious, philosophical concepts without any scientific evidence behind them. -

I can't be the only non-believer who feels uncomfortable replying to the question 'Which religion do you associate with?' by answering 'Atheism'. - Nicolau
No, you're not the only one. Others at Rational Response Squad have also mentioned it:

P.S. sorry about the link issues. This site is unfriendly to Firefox, and for some reason, my aol browser is very unfriendly to jwd, so I can't access the usually available buttons (for creating quotes and links); also, IE conflicts with the other browsers. -

Scream when Raped...
by KW13 inthought i'd bring this up again, i found it on the watchtower library and thought it was extremely annoying how they can say rubbish like this.. rape has become increasingly common today.
a major reason seems obvious.
sex and violence explode from tv and movie screens, from radio, newspapers, magazines and billboards.

"I am pretty certain rape pre-dates TV and movies." -BrentR
Yeah, BrentR, I'm pretty sure it does, since it's in the Bible, even blessed by Jehovah himself at times:
http://www.evilbible.com/Rape.htm
Numbers, Chapter 31 seems especially despicable, where it asks why have you let all the women live:
". . . Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves." -

"The GB has such a f*cked up idea of what rape is." - aSphereIsNotAcircle
That's because the GB commits rape every day - raping the minds of its members, especially children - most of whom also do not scream and yell about that, but when they do, they are further victimized.
It is just like a rapist organization to promote 'blame the victim' policies - in every situation - from rape to mental illness to all other suffering. The GB is a collective, rapist bully. -

Your Youth-Getting the Best out of It!--PDF!
by Atlantis inyour youth!
getting the best out of it!--1976-approx.-7mb-(standard pdf) what does the front cover of this book look like?
it's the commercial world that basically sets and encourages styles.

I think one of my all-time least favorite Watchtower Society crap comes from the Youth book, most especially the chapter entitled "Masturbation And Homosexuality." That chapter deserves to be ripped to shreds and burnt at the stake.
